LYDIA. Hyrcanis. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Hemiassarion (Orichalcum, 16 mm, 3.25 g, 5 h), late 2nd-early 3rd century AD. ΜΑΚEΔΟΝΩ Mask of Silenos to right, wearing wreath of ivy. Rev. YΡΚΑΝΩΝ Cista mystica with half-open lid out of which serpent creeps. Imhoof-Blumer, LS 1 = RPC IV online 1748 (1 specimen). Very rare. An attractive example of excellent style. Good very fine.
